Our History
In the early 1950s Harley, Harold, Harry, and Horace established a residential restoration company that emphasized and delivered only the highest quality craftsmanship and superior residential exterior products backed by the best warranties.
The emphasis on quality earned the brothers the recognition and respect of the community and the company took off. They took great pride in every job they performed and the philosophy that servicing each customer as if they were our family and treating each home as if it were our own served them well. As the business and the family grew, new generations came to work and were trained in the science of building and the art of establishing long-term relationships with satisfied customers. In 1983 Steve Griffitts, son of Vice President Harley Griffitts, established his own company: Griffitts Exterior Home Designs Inc.. It retained the original customer service philosophies and added a vision unique to the commercial exteriors industry.
Moving into the 21st century, Griffitts Exterior Home Designs Inc. has dramatically expanded beyond its original foundation of residential exteriors in Springfield, Illinois. These days Griffitts Exterior Home Designs Inc. provides premium products and services for commercial clients as well as residential throughout Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, and Iowa.
Many things have changed since the brothers founded a little restoration company and many things have stayed the same.
